Founded in November 1997 by Bob Mitchell—drawing on his years of experience as a Chief Marine Engineer—Allied Marine & Industrial was built on a vision to bring world-class marine knowledge shoreside. Bob’s goal was to create a specialized 24/7 ship repair business that could serve both the marine and industrial sectors with precision, speed, and reliability.
Since incorporating in November 1997, Allied Marine & Industrial (AMI) has become a proud leader of providing mechanical, machining, fabrication, and manufacturing services to all of North America. Located at Lock 8 of the Welland Canal, our strategic waterfront location allows for direct vessel tie up, reducing downtime and enabling efficient, large-scale service without transport issues. Offering a comprehensive range of full scope/turnkey ship repair solutions, industrial machining, and fabrication, we efficiently and effectively support all vessels transiting the St Lawrence Seaway System and the Great Lakes region, right outside our shop door. Allied Marine offers marine & industrial field services across all of North America including emergency repairs and maintenance.

Safety
Workplace safety is our highest priority. Whether we’re working in your plant, on your vessel, or in our own shop. Before any project begins, our on-site supervisor conducts a safety meeting to review job-specific hazards and precautions.
Inside our shop, we foster a culture of safety through regular training and communication. Monthly meetings reinforce safe work practices, while quarterly sessions bring together our Joint Health and Safety Committee members and workers to review progress and strengthen our commitment to a safe workplace.
